蘇屋邨前身是木屋區，在1960 - 1963年間，先後建成16幢樓宇，其中「楓林樓」、「丁香樓」、「金松樓」、「綠柳樓」及「櫻桃樓」是香港首批「Y」型設計的公屋大廈。該16幢樓宇全以花卉命名，計有：杜鵑、海棠、茶花、百合、彩雀、荷花、楓林、丁香、金松、綠柳、櫻桃、劍蘭、石竹、壽菊、蘭花、牡丹。

 

So Uk estate was built in 1960s. The 16 blocks were called "Houses" and named after varieties of flowers, namely: Azalea, Begonia, Cedar, Cherry, Camelia, Carnation, Gladiolus, Larkspur, Lilac, Lotus, Lily, Marigold, Maple, Orchid, Peony, and Willow.
